Hi I have a question regarding my divorce. I was married to my Dutch husband from May 1996 until March of 2015. We made an agreement on the house, our savings etc. but no agreement was made on pension funds. My ex still lives in the Netherlands and just turned 66 last month. What are my options?

Hello Karen, if you were married without a prenuptial agreement (in Dutch: huwelijkse voorwaarden), you can claim 50% of the pension funds during marriage. In your case this would be over a period of 19 years. Your part will only be paid when his pension has started. Our office can help you in claiming your share!
